I've never had to write as much as I did this semester. Altogether I think I wrote close to 50 pages. To some of you English-y types that might not seem like TOO much, but to me it was entirely too much, especially considering the bulk of it came at the end of the year. So why am I writing a blog? I actually have no idea. I think it might be one of my tactics to avoid finishing that essay, but I'm not sure. Considering I still have over 24 hours to crank out 5 pages, I'm not too concerned. Especially since I don't have anything at all on the agenda today. I think I might go to the store to pick up a few things (Hello, Hy-Vee! Anytime you wanna re-stock Kozy Shack rice pudding would be fine with me) but mostly I think I'll just be hanging out. I do need to go sign a couple posters I was SURE I had already signed, but whatever...I guess I didn't do it after all.
So besides doing stuff with the recruit, I also made a really quick trip home this weekend for Mother's Day. I mostly went to see my mom (obviously!) but I also missed my dog and my friend Carrie and her kid, Sawyer. Let me just say, Sawyer is an ADORABLE baby. I can't decide who is cuter though, Cheyenne or Sawyer. It IS like comparing apples to oranges though. LOL
In case you're wondering, that's Cheyenne on the top and Sawyer on the bottom. :)
So anyway, I really missed my dog but I did NOT miss her hair. There was dog hair ALL OVER the clothes I wore and I get the feeling it won't be coming off that easily. I think a couple times through the washer might do it, but still, NOT cool. I do think she makes up for it with her crazy antics though.
So to jump to a totally new subject, this week is finals and both Larissa and Talya are gone to Florida for JOs. Jeff is gone to somewhere too, but he'll be back tomorrow. Unfortunately I have a final pretty much in the middle of practice. Hopefully I can make it for the last hour or so. It's been extremely boring around here with no practice and no regular class. Add to that that the majority of my socializing is with either Talya or my teammates, all of whom are gone to either their parents' house or have locked themselves in to study and you can see that my social life has been pretty bleak this week. You'd think I'd have gotten more of these essays accomplished. But no, I went shopping instead. I don't think I'll ever learn. :P
